Hi I’m Claudia, mum of two girls, lifestyle blogger and content creator based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. As a former corporate marketing professional, now running my own business, I am a creative at heart who loves to write. I’ll be the first to admit that I am ‘winging it’ most days while I do my best to master the delicate balance of running a business and household while trying to be a 'cool' mum and half decent human.
The Maximalist Blog was born from a desire to present relatable and ‘though provoking’ content for the legendary modern woman. The cooks, the cleaners, the chefs, the counsellors, the life coaches, the captains, the managers and THE QUEEN’s of the modern household who literally do it all #whoruntheworld. On the blog I share all things motherhood, wellness and ‘winging it’ in style.
The truth about me.... life has not always been picture perfect as what appears on most of my social media highlight reels. As my friends and family often joke, ‘talk about falling over and landing on your two feet’. As a sufferer of anxiety and depression from a young age with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and drugs, I accidentally fell pregnant at the age of 20 to a casual lover and became a single mother. Two years later, I met my soul mate and love of my life who I (crazily) moved in with after only six weeks of dating and engaged only five months later. My now husband and I both had children from previous relationships, we later welcomed our very own child together to form a beautiful (and sometimes very challenging) blended family.
My honesty is my biggest asset and I'll just say it how it is! Those that know me on a personal level would say I have no filter and don’t 'sugar coat it’ but I don't really know how to be any other way. However, being like this means I have always been that person that can hold space for people to share, open up and unveil their true selves in a judgement free environment. This is what lead me to study both a counselling and psychology degree after my marketing career. This journey, along with my own personal battles with full-blown anxiety over the years has made me a passionate mental health advocate with a strong desire to serve women in this area.
By day you will find me managing our construction company with my husband, working on my next personal project, juggling #mumlife or sweating at the gym, while on weekends you'll probably find me sipping on an almond latte at my favourite organic café, climbing a mountain, running my kids around for school sport and then enjoying the spare time exploring the beautiful Sunshine Coast in which we live.
Thank you for reading this far and I really do hope my little corner of the world inspires you in some way. By all means, please reach out and say hello. I would love to get to know more about you and really look forward to chatting with you soon.
