REVIEW: The Wellness Box by Bellabox
I was recently gifted a beauty subscription box from Bellabox. I am delighted because I have always wanted to try one of these services. In this blog post I share my honest thoughts and experience with a review of the Wellness box.
What is Bellabox?
Bellabox is one of Australia’s first beauty subscription box services started by a group of young women who loved buying beauty products and looking good, but were sick of the hassle of going to department stores every time they wanted to try new beauty products. They were sick of paying for expensive beauty products that did not live up to their standards and always feeling like they were six months behind the latest trends. From their frustrations, these gals made it their mission to find a better way and this is when Bellabox was born.
Put simply, Bellabox is a subscription service where you get to experience the latest beauty samples tailored to your beauty profile, providing you the perfect opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ in a cost-effective and easy way!
How it works
Simply choose from one of the monthly to yearly beauty sampling memberships to try the latest and greatest in beauty products from as little as $19.95 per month. Set up your beauty profile to receive products that are specific to your individual tastes and requirements.
You can choose from a variety of boxes including the Bellabox for women, Bellobox for men, and the Bellababy box for expecting mums. There are also wellness boxes, gift boxes and a range of limited edition boxes including a ‘date night’ box, Vogue Edition, or GQ Edition. There is literally something for everyone.
I chose the Wellness Box which is full of all my favourites, more on this below. Once you chose your subscription you will receive a beauty box right on your step to discover and enjoy.
The best part is, if you love the beauty samples in your Bellabox you can simply visit the Bellabox shop to purchase the product in full. It really is a convenient and risk- free way to sample and buy beauty products.
First things first, the box arrived in beautiful and thoughtful packaging which really added to the excitement of discovering what was inside. You can check out my unboxing video here and see for yourself. With over $200 of value for only $59.95, I was curious to know what goodies were inside and whether they were actually good.
I liked the fact many of the products in the box could easily slot into my daily beauty routine. From the Kohl charcoal toothpaste and tooth brush, to the reusable travel cup for my almond chai lattes, Pure Natural Collagen Booster for my morning smoothie, the Tsuno natural bamboo pads for my monthlys, the Blue Dinasaur Super Bite to snack on post work out and one of my favourite drinks to enjoy, coconut kefir. There is nothing worse than being sent a bunch of items that you won’t use, so all ticks so far!
The most exciting new discoveries in my wellness box were the Jurlique Sweet Violet and Grapefruit Hydrating Mist, the Mary Grace Essential Face Elixir and the Scentered Sleep Well Therapy Balm which I couldn’t wait to try. I was not too sure about the chinese imported eye steamers, Pure Vitamin E oil or masseur gel cushions for my feet but I am sure I will give them a go when the need pops up.
If you are like me when it comes to spending a lot of money on beauty products, I like to stick with brands that I know and trust simply because it reduces the risk of being disappointed or wasting my money on something that has not lived up to my expectations. I love that the Bellabox has given me the opportunity to explore brands that I am not familiar with, or have not heard of before.
Not only this, it’s the most epic way to treat yourself every now and then, after all we deserve it right? You deserve it. You the super woman, the super mum, the super EVERYTHING!
When do we ever take the time to treat ourselves like this? Not often! And it’s a very cheap way to treat yourself mind you. From as little as $19.95 a month, that seriously beats any in salon beauty treatment or palming off the kids to nanna or hubby while you race off and visit the shops I say!
And it’s delivered right to your doorstep. How convenient is that?
From a conscious consumer perspective, I am thrilled that most of the brands in my wellness box are clean and green with the exception of one or two. I also like that it’s a thoughtful way to try and consume new products without being too wasteful. Sampling beauty products in a beauty box is definitely better than filling up your draw full of expensive products you have bought but never used! It’s so nice thinking about the prospect of not having all that waste.
All in all, I am delighted with what I received in my Wellness Bellabox and I would certainly recommend Bellabox if you love discovering and trying new products. I think these boxes make the perfect gift too and I will definitely be spoiling someone with a box one day soon.
Until next time,
