Hotel Review: The W Brisbane

Hotel Review: The W Brisbane

Last weekend I had the pleasure of staying at the NEW and fabulous W Hotel in Brisbane.   If I could describe this hotel to you in one word, it would be ‘Bris-VEGAS!’ quite literally.  The W Hotel is a playground that is ready to captivate your inner maximalist whilst delivering everything you need for the good time.  Families and pooches welcome!

This unique five star hotel delivers contemporary Australian design with eclectic interiors showcasing the flavours of Brisbane.  Walking into the lobby you are greeted by large metal sculptures of thongs and summer fruits with a pop art essence. Graphic prints, and hints of neon and acrylic adorn the hotel walls alongside marble structures and foundations. The hallways and elevators are glistened with neon lighting and images of insects, crocodiles and cockatoos.  In the hotel rooms you will find lip shaped lounges, boomerang coffee tables, timber floors and striking bold colours across a unique and modern design throughout. Did I mention each room comes with a fully equipped bar, coffee machines and GHD straighteners? This place has everything you need!

The W Brisbane sits on the edge of Brisbane City with stunning views of the city’s river and South Bank.  With activity options to suit all personalities and moods, there really is no reason to leave the hotel. Gym, Shop, Pool, Spa, Cocktails, Food, Dance. Repeat.   The hotel is also home to the ‘‘W’ store by Becker Minty full of boutique lifestyle, interiors and homeware products.

Watch the sunset whilst sipping on your favourite Martini at the Wet Deck, resort style pool bar overlooking the Brisbane River while you groove to DJ Beats.   Taste the flavours of Queensland and lounge about at the Living room. Feel like dressing up? Book a table at Brisbane’s own Three Blue Ducks and enjoy honest cooking and real food in style.   Or simply party in your room.

Still looking for more? The hotel is in perfect position to access all of Brisbane’s finest.  A short walk to Brisbane’s city’s shopping precinct Queens Street Mall, and you can hit up the all your favourite high end stores like A-J-E, Gucci, Sass and Bide and David Jones to name a short few.  Across the road is Brisbane’s lifestyle and cultural precinct, SouthBank. This is where the capital of Australia’s Sunshine State really comes to life hosting the cities arts, museums and entertainment.

Whether you are a travelling with or without children, it is clear this hotel is designed for the fashion forward, stylish and entertainment seeking hipsters who are looking for something fresh and fun.  Whilst sipping mocktails around the pool, I noticed a few (older) kids splashing around but the vibe was chilled. I really love five star luxury hotels that welcome families with open arms and as a mother myself this is important to me.  Just because you have children, doesn’t mean you can’t travel around in style!

Perfect for a date night, girls weekend or even a trip with your mini me’s, the W Hotel Brisbane literally has everything you need for the perfect vay-(or stay)-cation.

Until next time…
